Somatic EXPERIENCING & Touch work

I love my work. It is my dharma.

Stepping into the relational terrain with people is absolutely fascinating to me. To be able to slowly and exquisitely unravel the projections, transference and counter-transference with such care that we can breathe compassion into the newly found space and learn to connect through shades of grey that remind us of our shared humanity.

I combine a psychodynamic orientation with Somatic Experiencing, breathwork, touchwork, parts work, yoga, Buddhism and liberation philosophy, to support the renegotiation of early material, offer prediction errors and release looping through body waves, re-association and visceral compassion.

Ideal folks have done some somatic work (yoga, SE, cranial sacral, bodywork, etc), have good support and are interested in moving through early material so they can be more fully in the present moment.

I also offer the support of psychedelics to soften the default patterns so that the implicit nervous system can show us the early memories it has stored and begin to shift into something new through the safety of attuned relationship.

I help people explore the unconscious processes that influence our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors - especially those rooted in early life experiences. The core idea is that past experiences (especially from childhood) shape our present feelings and actions, often in ways we're not fully aware of. My work gets to the why beneath the behaviors and emotions so that we can find deeper compassion for ourselves and each other.

Liberation, after all, is a compassion journey. In latin “com” means “with” and “passion” means “suffering” or “with suffering”. It’s not that we suffer. It’s how we hold it - with the tender hands of grace.

Compassion bubbles up, washes closer and bowls me over.

It makes everything okay. Even the worst of it. It’s a shroud of mist on a cacophonous pond, a blanket of moss steeping with fronds and an honeysuckle kissed with moonbeams and peeper songs.

Compassion weeps with the willows, rises with the burning nerve and howls into the night when separated from the herd.

Compassion steeps the big bones of my pelvis and legs - swaddles my aching heart when I’m in the dregs.

It’s the “withing”, the presence abiding with the tiding breath that is the medicine that compassion begets.

And so, I surrender to her mothering embrace and allow myself to dissolve the tension in my face. The gravity soothing the fear while compassion holds me near and whispers “I am here”.

I have studied touch skills with Kathy Kain and Stephen Terrell, ISP with Raja Selvam, SE with Berns Galloway, Kathy Kain, Raja Selvam and Peter Levine, PSIP with Saj Razvi, Majia Lee and Robyn Temple, Ray Castellino’s pre and perinatal work with Myrna Martin.
